In the 40th minute Natalio Durango shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Muc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Nubecitas FC's Urbasa Ribas got control of the ball when Allan Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Natalio Durango to make the kick off. João Pedro Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 50th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Urbasa Ribas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. When Amancio Escurza fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nubecitas FC's protests and gave Amancio Escurza a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Nubecitas FC got a freekick which was hit by Zernin Cabrera. Urbasa Ribas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Bittencourt in the 73rd minute of play. Urbasa Ribas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If João Pedro Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
