The audience was convinced that Petre Maghiran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tostão Guimarães was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. When Enio Cabral fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Texugo Futebol Clube's protests and gave Enio Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Texugo Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32ndth minute of the game Petre Maghiran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Texugo Futebol Clube's Tostão Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Doinaș in the 35th minute of play forced Texugo Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tostão Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Cristiano Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Iulian Doinaș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petre Maghiran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tostão Guimarães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Petre Maghiran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Iulian Doinaș dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tostão Guimarães, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enio Cabral to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 80th minute Petre Maghiran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Texugo Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmir Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Iulian Doinaș notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Texugo Futebol Clube's Tostão Guimarães. Tostão Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tostão Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Doinaș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 minutes, Naldo Munhoz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Texugo Futebol Clube and the Paralia Athens players grew even worse after the yellow card.
