Jorginho Guimarães came out of the goal and Geovanni Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. But to his dismay, Enrique Furlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Joélson de Carvalho hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC BARCELONA booed when Flores da Cunha - RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Rezende hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ricardinho Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson de Carvalho in the 24th minute of the match. Celso Terra had several of the Flores da Cunha - RS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Ricardinho Moura as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ricardinho Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Furlan in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Flores da Cunha - RS's André Valladares got a free kick in the 36th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Flores da Cunha - RS's goalkeeper Ricardinho Moura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Furlan. After 46 played minutes Flores da Cunha - RS got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro de Sena.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanni Pontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Celso Terra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardinho Moura. Jorginho Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Valdomiro de Sena sent off a good shot on target. Geovanni Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Guimarães having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Geovanni Pontes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Nicolas Quintal fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC BARCELONA's protests and gave Nicolas Quintal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC BARCELONA getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Nicolas Quintal hit a great ball. Ricardinho Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC BARCELONA had played much better football throughout.
