After having played for 7 minutes, Leopoldo Lluques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palermo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Lluques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isaac Tajo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Florentino Vermudo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Furlan in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Palermo AFC defense, Celso Terra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florentino Vermudo. The Palermo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florentino Vermudo should have stopped the shot. Anselmo Astudillo hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Serafim de Moraes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Florentino Vermudo. Palermo AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 33rdth minute of the game Leopoldo Lluques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC BARCELONA's Jorginho Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Palermo AFC's Damian Mincho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Damian Mincho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palermo AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Damian Mincho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Damian Mincho hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Víktor Almeida in the 39th minute of play forced Palermo AFC's goalkeeper Florentino Vermudo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Palermo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Boni to maneuver through the defense. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andres Leoncio to make the kick off. The Palermo AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC BARCELONA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
