Petre Maghiran hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Florentino Vermudo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Chirculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Palermo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Boni didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Paralia Athens getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Petre Maghiran hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Leonard Chirculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Vermudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doru Apostu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Lluques, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute Leonard Chirculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florentino Vermudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 played minutes Paralia Athens got a freekick which was hit by Petre Maghiran. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

2-0 became the score in the 52nd minute when Leonard Chirculescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 58th minute of the game, Călin Vârlan landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Paralia Athens made a substitution. Gelu Verzea replaced Călin Vârlan. Florentino Vermudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stelian Todericiu in the 65th minute of play. Paralia Athens's Iulian Doinaș was substituted for Stelian Todericiu. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Palermo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andres Leoncio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mircea Robu took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florentino Vermudo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonard Chirculescu in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florentino Vermudo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paralia Athens walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
