Sundborn IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Degerfors IF the free kick. Åke Fors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Åke Fors's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Sikström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Sundborn IF got a freekick which was hit by Felix Arenstedt. Sundborn IF's Hugo Sikström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Fors in the 21st minute of play. Hugo Sikström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Fors, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sundborn IF's Stellan Wallmark slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastian Sandberg. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. In the 34th minute Stellan Wallmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Sandberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Sikström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Fors, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonard Christoffersson hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Stellan Wallmark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Sandberg having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Stellan Wallmark made the kick off in the second half. If Börje Åkesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Åke Fors's late challenge caught a Sundborn IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Åke Fors helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastian Sandberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Salah in the 57th minute of play. Pål Arvidsson got a throw-in 60 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Kåre Myhr. After a rather tough play, Sundborn IF's Niclas Kielberg got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Kristian Brodin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Sundborn IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pål Arvidsson to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Mohamed Salah's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastian Sandberg was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Degerfors IF's Åke Fors got a free kick in the 78th minute.
