Helmuth Duckadam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Basajaun in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, FC Ruscova's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Freddy Basajaun. After 25 played minutes Joinville S.German-FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Alejo Jaen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Ferrante in the 37th minute of play forced Joinville S.German-FSCMZ's goalkeeper Benny Stolpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benny Stolpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Verratti in the 40th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Freddy Basajaun took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Helmuth Duckadam to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Petruț Fințescu made the kick off in the second half. When FC Ruscova's Fausto Ferrante in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Helmuth Duckadam came out of the goal and Freddy Basajaun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Helmuth Duckadam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Basajaun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 64 in the game by Petruț Fințescu from a close distance when the talented Benny Stolpe managed to make a qualified save. Joinville S.German-FSCMZ's players were relieved. In the 66th match minute, Joinville S.German-FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Padro to maneuver through the defense. FC Ruscova's Algot Walroth was substituted for Albert Harbuz. After 67 played minutes Joinville S.German-FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Padro. In the 70th minute Freddy Basajaun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Joinville S.German-FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Iovan came free, but Benny Stolpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Helmuth Duckadam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vladimir Albuquerque's shot from short distance in the 95th minute.
