After 27 played minutes Give Peace a Chance got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Bacalu. Diego Di Maria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Give Peace a Chance's Conny Schuhmacher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Give Peace a Chance from getting a goal against them. Diego Di Maria struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Conny Schuhmacher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Nobal in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conny Schuhmacher saved Give Peace a Chance from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Nobal to make the kick off. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Diego Di Maria got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joschi Breneizeris's late challenge caught a Inter de Guayaquil FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joschi Breneizeris helped the player get up and apologised. Conny Schuhmacher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Di Maria in the 63rd minute of the match. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Manuel Nobal in the 64th minute. The throw-in from Errol Schürmann-Horster in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Xusto Vada. Conny Schuhmacher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Di Maria in the 87th minute of play. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Samuel Lux played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai Brüggemann in the 89th minute of play. Give Peace a Chance's Conny Schuhmacher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Di Maria in the 94th minute of play.
