The Glorious FC's Diogo de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save The Glorious FC from getting a goal against them. Nick Heesens short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Diogo de Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 16th minute Vivaldo Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Ágætis Byrjun's Joep Ponk dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Joep Ponk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Diogo de Souza made a huge save. Fang Hao Jing kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Diogo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nick Heesen in the 32nd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, The Glorious FC's Feliks Škarpa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georg Hagberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Feliks Škarpa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georg Hagberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nick Heesen to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when The Glorious FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enzo Fernández didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Feliks Škarpa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Georg Hagberg. The goal made the score 2-2. Feliks Škarpa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Hagberg having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diogo de Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diogo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ditlev Delmont in the 95th minute of play. Neither Ágætis Byrjun or The Glorious FC succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. The Glorious FC's Fang Hao Jing started the play with his kick off. When Nick Heesen came up free with the goalie in the 101st minute, the Ágætis Byrjun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nick Heesen couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 104th minute of play forced The Glorious FC's goalkeeper Diogo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Paulo Paraense hit a great freekick 107 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nick Heesen in the 108th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo de Souza saved The Glorious FC from getting behind. Georg Hagberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliks Škarpa, who was totally free with the ball in the 111th minute. The Ágætis Byrjun players wondered just what they needed to do win this one. 105 minutes had now been played and the teams were still tied. Penalties were starting to look likely.

Everyone could clearly see that both Ágætis Byrjun's and The Glorious FC's players was becoming tired in their legs when Ágætis Byrjun's Nick Heesen did the kick off in the second half of the overtime. 119 minutes into the match, Patrick Cane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georg Hagberg. Ágætis Byrjun's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrick Cane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. The Glorious FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
