GKS Katowice's Betão Pontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save GKS Katowice from getting a goal against them. When Ludomir Zacharek came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the GKS Katowice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludomir Zacharek couldn't finish the play. Lucio Eron might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Betão Pontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucio Eron ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucio Eron got free with Betão Pontes in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute Ludomir Zacharek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
