An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Tande in the 5th minute of play forced AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Gil Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Sandro Dionísio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Claudinho Leite. Sandro Dionísio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Wellington Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Leite having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Arí Motta came free, but Claudinho Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Didi Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Claudinho Leite didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AF CERRADO. If Allan da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 18th minute, Wellington Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the game, Benjamin Tande cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gil Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benjamin Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The long shot by Igor Oliveira in the 33rd minute really tested Claudinho Leite's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Afonso Paraíba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil Velloso was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Afonso Paraíba put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gil Velloso. AF CERRADO's Gil Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Paraíba in the 43rd minute of play. Clube do Remo MZ's Luiz Fernando Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Dionísio to make the kick off. Nestor Cordeiro hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Nestor Cordeiro's late challenge caught a Clube do Remo MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. Walmyr Dionísio might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmyr Dionísio ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Jefferson Aparecido hit a great ball. The supporters of Clube do Remo MZ booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 68 played minutes, Clube do Remo MZ's Walmyr Dionísio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil Velloso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Clube do Remo MZ reached it. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Benjamin Tande hit a great ball. In the 73rd match minute, Clube do Remo MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Duarte to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Igor Oliveira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Clube do Remo MZ's Claudinho Leite didn't even have to move. 76 minutes into the game, AF CERRADO's Sandro Dionísio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinho Leite made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. With a little luck, AF CERRADO's Gil Velloso got control of the ball when Afonso Paraíba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arí Motta charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arí Motta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
