Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Valladares in the 3rd minute of play. After 5 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Sidney da Mata. Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Anísio Alagoano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tomé Mota quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jânio Arantes hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Castanheiro SC's Anísio Alagoano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Agua Santa. Pedrinho Guimarães came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Agua Santa's Frank Rosa. But to his dismay, Frank Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tomé Mota was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benedito Mineiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 14 minute of play. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Clemente Cardozo hit a great ball. Tomé Mota made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Umberto Dionísio sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Célio Vianna during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Célio Vianna hit a great ball. Oséas Trigo scored 2-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrinho Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Umberto Dionísio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tomé Mota, 3-2. After 47 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Oséas Trigo. Agua Santa's Enrique Abreu was substituted for Ernani Valladares. Oséas Trigo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oséas Trigo to make the kick off. Benedito Mineiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Tomé Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Nilson Veloso hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Rosa got free with Pedrinho Guimarães in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anísio Alagoano in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Tiago Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agua Santa made a substitution. William Luz replaced Frank Rosa. Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento was substituted for Magno Pereira. After 69 played minutes Agua Santa got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Cosme. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anísio Alagoano went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Dionísio came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Castanheiro SC's Júnior Alagoano was substituted for Edinho Pirani. In the 97th minute, Umberto Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Castanheiro SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
