Xie Shu Tian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Dulemba having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Pecém's goal looked a bit too open when Günther Doty came free, but Denílson Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmund Dulemba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xie Shu Tian, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute Günther Doty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Xie Shu Tian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Dulemba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmund Dulemba came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Pecém's Xie Shu Tian. But to his dismay, Xie Shu Tian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Edmund Dulemba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xie Shu Tian in the 24th minute of play. If Erhan Sarıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes Pecém's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zaquiel Puredo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Türk Polis Gücü's corner Delfino Santirso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Denílson Leão quite easily take care of the ball. If Günther Doty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Denílson Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günther Doty, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Delfino Santirso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Denílson Leão made a huge save. Erhan Sarıoğlu struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Denílson Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Türk Polis Gücü. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The audience was convinced that Günther Doty's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Leão was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Xie Shu Tian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Edmund Dulemba made a huge save. Pecém's Denílson Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfino Santirso in the 78th minute of play. Denílson Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaid Cevahir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Xie Shu Tian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Dulemba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
