Tanek Ostrowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. When Czeslaw Domeracki fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Gdynia's protests and gave Czeslaw Domeracki a yellow card for diving instead. Czeslaw Domeracki hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 11th match minute, Olympique Gdynia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tirso Isasaga to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the game, James Batistuta lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Tanek Ostrowski. The crowd rose to their feet as A4p FC Gad's Alessandro Del Piero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tanek Ostrowski. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alessandro Del Piero got free with Tanek Ostrowski in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Olympique Gdynia booed when A4p FC Gad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcin Pachucki didn't get a good kick on the ball. A4p FC Gad's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
