After 15 minutes of play, A4p FC Gad's James Batistuta made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Leão was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by James Batistuta in the 19th minute of play forced Pecém's goalkeeper Denílson Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Pecém's Roberto Arantes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Denílson Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gică Busuioc in the 90th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Pecém's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Busuioc came free, but Denílson Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
