The audience was convinced that Daniel Marčok's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ladislav Vališ was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. White Lion's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anders Holm in the 6th minute. After taking down the ball on White Lion's corner Anders Holm fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ladislav Vališ quite easily take care of the ball. MIK Focus ŽILINA were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after White Lion's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stancho Basarov took the corner. The audience was convinced that Daniel Marčok's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ladislav Vališ was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Ladislav Vališ made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to MIK Focus ŽILINA getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Zulkarnaen Bramantio hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match Anders Holm shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ladislav Vališ showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ivan Erdődy's late challenge caught a White Lion's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Erdődy helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of White Lion booed when MIK Focus ŽILINA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Erdődy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the White Lion defense, Ivan Erdődy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dušan Belko. The White Lion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dušan Belko should have stopped the shot. Jozef Domanický blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislav Vališ having to make a save. After 47 played minutes MIK Focus ŽILINA got a freekick which was hit by Bohdan Seno. A collision led to MIK Focus ŽILINA getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Bohdan Seno hit a great ball. The MIK Focus ŽILINA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. White Lion were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Marčok was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, MIK Focus ŽILINA's Ladislav Vališ got control of the ball when Jozef Domanický tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Erdődy got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 54 played minutes MIK Focus ŽILINA got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Erdődy. Ladislav Vališ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Marčok, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the last second Ladislav Vališ throw himself and got hold of the ball when Daniel Marčok in the 62ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Richard Kňazovický received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Dušan Belko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Jarne Vloeberghs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dušan Belko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. White Lion's František Ťažký was substituted for Ľubomír Pekarík. MIK Focus ŽILINA made a substitution. Ben Macrez replaced Richard Kňazovický. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lukáč Hanigovský in the 74th minute of play forced White Lion's goalkeeper Dušan Belko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, MIK Focus ŽILINA's Zulkarnaen Bramantio got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Anders Holm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ladislav Vališ. MIK Focus ŽILINA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anders Holm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. The MIK Focus ŽILINA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching White Lion's performance. The match ended with a win for White Lion.
