The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Ladislav Vališ successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 5 minutes in the game, Marián Fabula fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ladislav Vališ having to interfere. After having played for 8 minutes, Ladislav Rottmaier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bodovce FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ladislav Rottmaier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ladislav Vališ made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ladislav Rottmaier in the 13th minute. Ivan Fogaš took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Kňazovický, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Fogaš showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Erdődy, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The MIK Focus ŽILINA fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when MIK Focus ŽILINA's Ivan Erdődy looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With 26 minutes on the clock, Ján Almann commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of MIK Focus ŽILINA booed when Bodovce FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Petruška didn't get a good kick on the ball. MIK Focus ŽILINA's Ladislav Vališ proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save MIK Focus ŽILINA from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Jarne Vloeberghs ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Fogaš was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After 37 played minutes Bodovce FK got a freekick which was hit by Tomáš Čišovský. 39 minutes into the match, Bodovce FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Erdődy came free, but Ivan Fogaš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, MIK Focus ŽILINA's goal looked a bit too open when Marián Fabula came free, but Ladislav Vališ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bohdan Seno hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Ladislav Vališ made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marián Fabula in the 43rd minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jarne Vloeberghs to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Peter Rapoš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bodovce FK's Ivan Fogaš played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarne Vloeberghs in the 62nd minute of play. Jarne Vloeberghs received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Fogaš came out and tried to block the shot, but Jarne Vloeberghs slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 62nd minute. Ladislav Rottmaier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Ladislav Vališ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarne Vloeberghss short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Ivan Fogaš to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 80 minutes of play, MIK Focus ŽILINA's Lukáč Hanigovský made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Fogaš was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th match minute, Bodovce FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Petruška to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Jarne Vloeberghs ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Fogaš was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Lukáč Hanigovský took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Fogaš. Ivan Fogaš dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislav Rottmaier in the 95th minute of play forced MIK Focus ŽILINA's goalkeeper Ladislav Vališ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The MIK Focus ŽILINA players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
