The supporters of Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. booed when Vakoufi Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Akakios Panopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magno Nunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Petros Vasdekis having to make a save. Petros Vasdekis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Fernandez in the 13th minute of play. With a little luck, Vakoufi Utd's Petros Vasdekis got control of the ball when Cláudio Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Themis Pepper struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Paredes Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akis Nafpliotis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Themis Pepper kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themis Pepper in the 25th minute of play forced Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s goalkeeper Paredes Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Themis Pepper had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paredes Goiano. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cláudio Senna to strike the kick off in the second half. Cláudio Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Nunes in the 55th minute of play forced Vakoufi Utd's goalkeeper Petros Vasdekis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Magno Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. or Vakoufi Utd succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

Paredes Goiano was out of position in the 122 minute of play, and Themis Pepper capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Themis Pepper really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. The Vakoufi Utd supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vakoufi Utd would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
