In the 10th minute, Simon Criston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 minutes, Enzo Selvi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Glasgow Rangers FC and the Sarmiento de Resistencia players grew even worse after the yellow card. 13 minutes into the game, one of Glasgow Rangers FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ferruccio Del Greco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cesar Lekubegi struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Biagio Pantano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarmiento de Resistencia. Simon Criston got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 44 played minutes Sarmiento de Resistencia got a freekick which was hit by Simon Criston. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cesar Lekubegi made a kick off. With a little luck, Sarmiento de Resistencia's Filomeno Tirso got control of the ball when Ferruccio Del Greco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Sarmiento de Resistencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Fix to maneuver through the defense. If Braulio Ourente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Glasgow Rangers FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
