With a little luck, FC Kukova's Anton Šindler got control of the ball when Håkan Šuker tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anton Šindler came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by La Cosa Nostra's Håkan Šuker. But to his dismay, Håkan Šuker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 20 minutes, Håkan Šuker made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Kukova's Anton Šindler tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Viktor Minár notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of La Cosa Nostra's Sonny Alén. Sonny Alén was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 30th minute Dušan Vlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Alén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes, Ján Bartal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kukova and the La Cosa Nostra players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of La Cosa Nostra booed when FC Kukova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ján Bartal didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dušan Vlach in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sonny Alén saved La Cosa Nostra from getting behind. Agnaldo Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anton Šindler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agnaldo Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. Anton Šindler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Reis in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Gabriel Kabát made the kick off in the second half. Håkan Šuker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anton Šindler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Elias Millrick came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the La Cosa Nostra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Millrick couldn't finish the play. La Cosa Nostra made a substitution. After 84 minutes of play, FC Kukova's Marek Jančík made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sonny Alén was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jozef Šafár kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Agnaldo Reis took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Šindler. Anton Šindler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Håkan Šuker hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 96 minutes FC Kukova's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hans Bergfelt who took care of the corner kick. La Cosa Nostra's Hans Bergfelt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Anton Šindler in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

FC Kukova's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
