The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sixten Dahlgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Modesto Peirano in the 6th minute. Egil Blom charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egil Blom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Egil Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ciriaco Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 11 played minutes United got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Alfonso. The audience was convinced that Modesto Peirano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sixten Dahlgren was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 17th minute, David Lange ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sabahattin Erten was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 20 played minutes Frogner got a freekick which was hit by Egil Blom. When Frogner's Östen Gunnarsson in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye United's goalie prevented a goal. If Rolando Bela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 32 minutes into the match, United's goal looked a bit too open when Östen Gunnarsson came free, but Sabahattin Erten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute Östen Gunnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Erten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Frogner getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Allan Kilstedt hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Ciriaco Alfonso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sabahattin Erten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Östen Gunnarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Tony Hallgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabahattin Erten having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Modesto Peirano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, United's Sabahattin Erten got control of the ball when Tony Hallgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sixten Dahlgren came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by United's Rolando Bela. But to his dismay, Rolando Bela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 59th minute Östen Gunnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Erten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Tony Hallgren scored to the left of an out of position Sabahattin Erten, making the score, 2-3. If Rolando Bela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Modesto Peirano in the 68th minute of play forced Frogner's goalkeeper Sixten Dahlgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Hallgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabahattin Erten having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tony Hallgren got free with Sabahattin Erten in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute, Ernesto Vermudo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Vermudo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Frogner's Tony Hallgren tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Tony Hallgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabahattin Erten having to interfere. Adrian Sikström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernan Emmanuel struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Sixten Dahlgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for United. Sixten Dahlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatan Gigant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, United's Sabahattin Erten got control of the ball when Tony Hallgren tried to sneak it across the goal line.
