The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zlatan Gigant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucjan Werra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Sabahattin Erten made a huge save. Betão Pontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Sabahattin Erten successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolando Bela in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Betão Pontes saved GKS Katowice from getting behind. United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Modesto Peirano in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, United's Rolando Bela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Betão Pontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucjan Werra was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Lucjan Werra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sabahattin Erten was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 54th minute, United's Modesto Peirano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Betão Pontes. Betão Pontes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. In the 60th minute, Modesto Peirano made a precise shot to the right of Betão Pontes. GKS Katowice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Lucjan Werra took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sabahattin Erten. Sabahattin Erten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. Betão Pontes was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Rolando Bela capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rolando Bela really showed his touch with that goal: 1-8. The crowd rose to their feet as United's Rolando Bela slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Betão Pontes. That made the score 1-9 after 73 minutes of play. GKS Katowice made a substitution. Ludomir Zacharek replaced Cezary Kasiewski. After a rather tough play, United's Hernan Emmanuel got a free kick in the 78th minute. United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Modesto Peirano in the 82nd minute. GKS Katowice's Betão Pontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save GKS Katowice from getting a goal against them. Sabahattin Erten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucjan Werra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute, Modesto Peirano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. United were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over GKS Katowice's much stronger midfield.
