The audience was convinced that Geovanildo Luis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrício Falcão was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice moves Ronaldinho Peixoto could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Haji Sarap however easily saved by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Sprite Star Football's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanildo Luis came free, but Fabrício Falcão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Joinville City - FSCMZ got a corner. Sprite Star Football's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrique Camargo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Joinville City - FSCMZ's corner Henrique Camargo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fabrício Falcão quite easily take care of the ball. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sprite Star Football defense, Geovanildo Luis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabrício Falcão. The Sprite Star Football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabrício Falcão should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute, Geovanildo Luis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabrício Falcão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Fabrício Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanildo Luis in the 47th minute of play forced Sprite Star Football's goalkeeper Fabrício Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute Joinville City - FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Henrique Camargo went to the cornerflag to take it. Ronaldinho Gaucho was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovanildo Luis to make the kick off. A collision led to Sprite Star Football getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Percival Cardoso hit a great ball. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Henrique Camargo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fabrício Falcão but with some difficulty. Geovanildo Luis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Adhemar Santos was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Horácio Abraão was substituted for Ronaldinho Gaucho. A collision led to Joinville City - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Mbaka N'Diaye hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Abraão came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Camargo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabrício Falcão having to make a save. Ronaldinho Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sprite Star Football's Ronaldinho Peixoto got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Adhemar Santos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 84th minute. Joinville City - FSCMZ's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Sprite Star Football's Fabrício Falcão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Sprite Star Football from getting a goal against them. After 94 played minutes Sprite Star Football got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Peixoto.
