The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bennis's goalkeeper Leonardo Jara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match AFK Petržalka got a corner. Bennis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arnalt Teresa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Moreno Torricelli was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in AFK Petržalka fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! AFK Petržalka:s Filip Garaj showed great skill when he stopped Cai Cheng Sang:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Svartengren in the 26th minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AFK Petržalka booed when Bennis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Åke Granberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filip Garaj took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cai Cheng Sang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filip Garaj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cai Cheng Sang in the 30th minute of the match. After 32 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Víctor Antov. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Víctor Antov got a free kick in the 34th minute. Filip Garaj made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cai Cheng Sang in the 36th minute of play. AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cai Cheng Sang in the 37th minute of play. When Sven-Åke Granberg, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 42 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Filip Garaj was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Svartengren in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Fossum was the one to do the kick off. When Rick Haremeijer fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFK Petržalka's protests and gave Rick Haremeijer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AFK Petržalka getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rick Haremeijer hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Fossum in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonardo Jara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute, Rick Haremeijer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cai Cheng Sang kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 68thth minute. Though ot was a great shot AFK Petržalka's keeper Filip Garaj was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Filip Garaj made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Cai Cheng Sang sent off a good shot on target. Peter Hlinka kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Bennis's Pål Uggstedt was substituted for Cai Cheng Sang. AFK Petržalka made a substitution. Erik Jirka replaced Rick Haremeijer. Peter Hlinka hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Pål Uggstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pål Uggstedt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Filip Garaj made a huge save. Nikola Krstović blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Jara having to make a save. Leonardo Jara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikola Krstović in the 84th minute of the match. AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Svartengren in the 87th minute of play. César Lira hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Filip Garaj made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roy Vesterberg in the 95th minute. 96 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrik Svartengren.
