Flávio Fantini came out of the goal and Montrel Chamorro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th match minute, Resistencia Tayrona FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joam Almarza to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inguma Espejo during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Resistencia Tayrona FC! In the 10th minute, Cláudio Leite reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Enrique Caldero. The goal made the score 1-0. Róbson de Amaral hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Saverio Astete got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Claudinei Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Caldero made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Acácio Alves sent off a good shot on target. When Resistencia Tayrona FC's Saverio Astete in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.C.PAULISTA's goalie prevented a goal. Flávio Fantini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saverio Astete's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Flávio Fantini didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saverio Astete went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of S.C.PAULISTA booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inguma Espejo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Resistencia Tayrona FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Saverio Astete dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Flávio Fantini, 1-3. If Saverio Astete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, S.C.PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Leite to maneuver through the defense. Refugio Izaga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Flávio Fantini came out and tried to block the shot, but Refugio Izaga slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 63rd minute. Taurino Hernaiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flávio Fantini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Taurino Hernaiz ran back to his position shaking his head. Flávio Fantini stood somewhat misplaced when Taurino Hernaiz came free in front of goal and shot 1-5 to the left of him in the 67 minute. Flávio Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Montrel Chamorro in the 70th minute of play. Flávio Fantini was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Taurino Hernaiz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 71 minute of play. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Gervasio Buenahora was substituted for Refugio Izaga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taurino Hernaiz in the 79th minute of play forced S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Flávio Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cláudio Leite the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th match minute, S.C.PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Leite to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the match, S.C.PAULISTA's goal looked a bit too open when Taurino Hernaiz came free, but Flávio Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Flávio Fantini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Taurino Hernaiz. The referee ignored S.C.PAULISTA's protests and gave Acácio Alves a yellow card for diving instead. Acácio Alves hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Taurino Hernaiz in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flávio Fantini, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Acácio Alves struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Enrique Caldero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C.PAULISTA. Resistencia Tayrona FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
