PEÑAROL PIPERO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Resistencia Tayrona FC the free kick. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when PEÑAROL PIPERO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Pestaña didn't get a good kick on the ball. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Zalayeta to strike the kick off in the second half. A nice corner shot did that Martxot Vaquerizo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Enrique Caldero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Taurino Hernaiz got free with Randall Rodríguez in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The PEÑAROL PIPERO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Taurino Hernaiz took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Randall Rodríguez. Randall Rodríguez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Resistencia Tayrona FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
