Randall Rodríguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Erramu, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, DeportivoIndependienteMDP's Esteve Gasteiz got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute Marcelo Zalayeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Roldan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute of the match, Delmar Lapurdi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Randall Rodríguez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's Baltasar Roldan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 27th minute of play. Martxot Vaquerizo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baltasar Roldan. DeportivoIndependienteMDP's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Baltasar Roldan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Zalayeta in the 34th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Zalayeta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 77 played minutes, PEÑAROL PIPERO's Martxot Vaquerizo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Baltasar Roldan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PEÑAROL PIPERO reached it. After 78th play minutes Marcelo Zalayeta shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Baltasar Roldan and just under the crossbar into goal. When José Perdomo fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
