Frente Revolucionario F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saverio Astete was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 32 minutes Resistencia Tayrona FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomás Quiros who took care of the corner kick. Saverio Astete recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Humberto Quirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Saverio Astete's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Inguma Espejo's late challenge caught a Frente Revolucionario F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inguma Espejo helped the player get up and apologised.
