The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Medero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.R. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fortunato De Laurentiis in the 84th minute of play. Fulvio Pietropaolo made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Krisztián Véber sent off a good shot on target. After 89 played minutes S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Siekkötter. 93 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fulvio Pietropaolo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felice Juliano in the 94th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
