A collision led to Coelho FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Eriberto Linhares hit a great ball. Coelho FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gösta Söderberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, KANONIERZY's goalkeeper Christian Abbiati had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Linhares. In the 9th minute Ime Mavros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ime Mavros in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Renato Novaes saved Coelho FC from getting behind. Coelho FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jordi Puig in the 17th minute. Eriberto Linhares was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Christian Abbiati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Hermes in the 21st minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Jordi Puig got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Christian Abbiati quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Coelho FC's Paulo Renato Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Hamza Hanefi in the 24th minute of play. Paulo Renato Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ime Mavros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Ime Mavros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Coelho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ime Mavros came free, but Paulo Renato Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KANONIERZY's Ime Mavros managed to work through Coelho FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ime Mavros dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Paulo Renato Novaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ime Mavros in the 29th minute of play. Christian Abbiati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodriguinho Hermes in the 34th minute of the match. 34 minutes in the game, Rodriguinho Hermes dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Christian Abbiati made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Valdo Peres sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the game, Ali Hamza Hanefi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Paulo Renato Novaes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 46 minutes into the match, Ime Mavros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Renato Novaes. Coelho FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ime Mavros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ime Mavros to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Coelho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Sobania came free, but Paulo Renato Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panagiotis Abelas kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Coelho FC's zone, Ime Mavros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Renato Novaes came out of the goal and Ime Mavros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gösta Söderberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paulo Renato Novaes firmly grabbed it by the left post. KANONIERZY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ime Mavros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
