In the 7th minute of the match, Gabriele Batistuta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Barnaba Brysz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 9 minutes into the match, Radomir Piczak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olivier Kahn. A sloppy throw-in by Szczepan Dropinski in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lemel SV's Hans Degeling. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Barnaba Brysz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gocław Wilga Warszawa's Barnaba Brysz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhard Braamhaar in the 31st minute of play. If Kryspin Makowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Reinhard Braamhaar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lemel SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinhard Braamhaar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barnaba Brysz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reinhard Braamhaar to make the kick off. Bastiaan Bruintjes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Bastiaan Bruintjes fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lemel SV's protests and gave Bastiaan Bruintjes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Lemel SV's Bastiaan Bruintjes got a free kick in the 56th minute. Olivier Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kryspin Makowski in the 96th minute of play. The Gocław Wilga Warszawa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
