The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Simon Nikola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olivier Kahn was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. 9 minutes into the game, Edwin Aukes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Pastor Oriche was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pieter den Hartog kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. If Philip Traa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Mario Frisco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pastor Oriche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Aukes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Formentera's Camilo Hernandez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Camilo Hernandez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Formentera protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Camilo Hernandez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Formentera fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Pastor Oriche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Traa, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Lisandro Remicio came free, but Olivier Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Formentera's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Aukes came free, but Pastor Oriche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Edwin Aukes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pastor Oriche was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Simon Nikola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olivier Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Simon Nikola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Kahn having to interfere. Olivier Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbano Telo in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Philip Traa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pastor Oriche. Philip Traa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Pastor Oriche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Greef in the 72nd minute of the match. Lemel SV's Olivier Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Nikola in the 74th minute of play. Simon Nikola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Philip Traa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Simon Nikola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Formentera booed when Lemel SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Swart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olivier Kahn came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Formentera's Simon Nikola. But to his dismay, Simon Nikola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Lemel SV's zone, Simon Nikola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olivier Kahn came out of the goal and Simon Nikola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edwin Aukes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pastor Oriche firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Formentera supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lemel SV's performance. The match ended with a win for Lemel SV.
