Leandro Ranolfo was slow to take the kick. During this time Academia Club's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Academia Club's corner Leandro Ranolfo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angelo Crescencio quite easily take care of the ball. In the 18th minute Mauro Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Academia Club booed when CORNUDOS Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Gora didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melchor Mirande to make the kick off.
