Vítězslav Netopil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Engström having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Günter Pich took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Dan Engström to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 21 minutes, Kennet Lövkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STHLM södra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kennet Lövkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the STHLM södra defense, Günter Pich kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dan Engström. The STHLM södra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dan Engström should have stopped the shot. Dan Engström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítězslav Netopil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Dan Engström managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when FC Colo - Colo's Günter Pich fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 30 minutes into the match, STHLM södra's goalkeeper Dan Engström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miloň Bartko. Miloň Bartko kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match FC Colo - Colo got a corner. STHLM södra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Günter Pich ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which David Pohanka managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Miloň Bartko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Engström having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Günter Pich in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Engström saved STHLM södra from getting behind. FC Colo - Colo's Miloň Bartko got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kennet Lövkvist to make the kick off. Dan Engström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Günter Pich, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. FC Colo - Colo's Lajos Fülöp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kennet Lövkvist in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, FC Colo - Colo's goalkeeper Lajos Fülöp had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mats Hegg. In the 56thth minute of the game Günter Pich who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but STHLM södra's Dan Engström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in STHLM södra's zone, Günter Pich stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Engström came out of the goal and Günter Pich tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Konrad Deckbergh during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, STHLM södra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konrad Deckbergh to maneuver through the defense. Mats Hegg's late challenge caught a FC Colo - Colo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mats Hegg helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Günter Pich's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dan Engström was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. The supporters of STHLM södra booed when FC Colo - Colo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petr Švandrlík didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Colo - Colo had played much better football throughout.
