The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İrfan Attar in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the game, Lisandro Taurino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Urzicuța's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Steaua Pildesti the free kick. Lisandro Taurino hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 7 minutes of play, FC Urzicuța's İrfan Attar made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marian Văduvescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! 10 minutes into the match, İrfan Attar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marian Văduvescu. FC Steaua Pildesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that İrfan Attar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by İrfan Attar in the 14th minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marian Văduvescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İrfan Attar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute İrfan Attar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Văduvescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zygmunt Dunajski struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Sandu Vlaicu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Steaua Pildesti. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marian Văduvescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. İrfan Attars short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Marian Văduvescu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 61st minute, Terry Doyle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If İrfan Attar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu got control of the ball when İrfan Attar tried to sneak it across the goal line. İrfan Attar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Marian Văduvescu made a huge save. FC Urzicuța's Sandu Vlaicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Stere in the 66th minute of play. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save FC Steaua Pildesti from getting a goal against them. Sandu Vlaicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Constantin Deșliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. FC Urzicuța's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristi Chivu in the 75th minute.
