Carlos Germano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Germano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Chalaye, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Chris Le Clainche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 20 minutes, Chris Le Clainche mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Royal PSG and the Club Atlético Atlanta players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Royal PSG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Le Clainche didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Paul Guay fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal PSG's protests and gave Paul Guay a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Royal PSG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Guay didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Marcos Berdoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antoine Mano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Berdoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurice Chalaye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Germano having to interfere. If Anselmo Nevada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Maurice Chalaye struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Carlos Germano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Royal PSG. In the 54thth minute of the game Benigno Abreu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal PSG's Antoine Mano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 60th minute Marcos Berdoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoine Mano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Théodore Cordeau came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Royal PSG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Théodore Cordeau couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurice Chalaye in the 64th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes of play Royal PSG's Paul Guay was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Royal PSG getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Paul Guay hit a great ball. Marcos Berdoi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antoine Mano came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcos Berdoi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 71st minute. Antoine Mano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 82nd match minute, Royal PSG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Le Clainche to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Nevada's late challenge caught a Royal PSG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Nevada helped the player get up and apologised. Anselmo Nevada hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Maurice Chalaye kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Germano. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Germano should have stopped the shot. Anselmo Nevada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Royal PSG players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
