Marco Weste struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Rudolf Kobler didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Union Solingen. 9 minutes into the game, Johan Korell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rudolf Kobler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Marco Weste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes, Ulli Füngerlings mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union Solingen and the Forst Post players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Union Solingen! In the 16th minute, Andreas Jauch left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Forst Post fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Marco Weste fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Kobler having to interfere. Hannes Altvater's late challenge caught a Forst Post 's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hannes Altvater helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Union Solingen getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hannes Altvater hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Marco Weste managed to get in a good position for a shot. Union Solingen's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Weste was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Kobler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Forst Post 's zone, Marco Weste stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Kobler came out of the goal and Marco Weste tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 30 minutes, Johan Korell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union Solingen and the Forst Post players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Johan Korell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudolf Kobler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Korell in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute Johan Korell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Kobler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Marco Weste had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rudolf Kobler. Forst Post 's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Weste was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johan Korell was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Marco Weste managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union Solingen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Weste was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Union Solingen getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Hannes Altvater hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Johan Korell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Kobler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Forst Post 's Peter Nutt got a free kick in the 69th minute. Johan Korell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rudolf Kobler came out and tried to block the shot, but Johan Korell slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 74th minute. In the 82nd minute, Johan Korell fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rudolf Kobler, passed just outside the right post. In the 86th minute, Johan Korell reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rudolf Kobler. The goal made the score 1-4. The supporters of Union Solingen booed when Forst Post was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Zurflüh didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Forst Post 's Fabian Rederer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philipp Olowka narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Andreas Lampert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Forst Post booed when Union Solingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samson Körper didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute Andreas Lampert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philipp Olowka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Forst Post fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Union Solingen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
