An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Nordmark in the 7th minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Tony Pacheco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Chaves was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Clayton Sergi might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Nicholas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Nordmark in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Pacheco came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 32 minutes into the game, when Konstantin Gorobchenko put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of SE Palestra Itália:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of New England Minas:s goal. SE Palestra Itália:s Tony Chaves showed great skill when he stopped Tony Pacheco:s penalty. After some careless play in the SE Palestra Itália defense, Tony Pacheco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Chaves. The SE Palestra Itália fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Chaves should have stopped the shot. Tony Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tio Lio in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Chaves saved SE Palestra Itália from getting behind. Tony Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The audience was convinced that Tio Lio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Chaves was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After 49 minutes SE Palestra Itália's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Glen Conklin who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on New England Minas's corner Glen Conklin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tony Chaves quite easily take care of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Flavinho Meirelles to strike the kick off in the second half. Tony Chaves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tio Lio's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Edgardo Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Tio Lio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SE Palestra Itália's Tony Chaves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of SE Palestra Itália booed when New England Minas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Nordmark didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the SE Palestra Itália players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for New England Minas.
