After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Giovanni Lenhardt managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVER's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Lenhardt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Muammer Taşcıoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Eric Târban fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIVER's protests and gave Eric Târban a yellow card for diving instead. Eric Târban hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 16 played minutes RIVER got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni Lenhardt. In the 17th minute Pavel Tankovich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilie Slătineanu in the 19th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Marcial Lordi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovanni Lenhardt made a great header on RIVER's corner, it was just that FC Nereta's Muammer Taşcıoğlu managed to reach the ball for a save. RIVER's Niki Lauda got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Muammer Taşcıoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Lauda, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Niki Lauda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Nereta's Muammer Taşcıoğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, RIVER's Niki Lauda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Muammer Taşcıoğlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Muammer Taşcıoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niki Lauda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wu Li Zhi in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Nereta's goalkeeper Muammer Taşcıoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVER's Eric Târban got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, FC Nereta's goal looked a bit too open when Niki Lauda came free, but Muammer Taşcıoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niki Lauda in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Muammer Taşcıoğlu saved FC Nereta from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niki Lauda to strike the kick off in the second half. Niki Lauda in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Muammer Taşcıoğlu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Nereta's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Eric Târban scored to the left of an out of position Muammer Taşcıoğlu, making the score, 0-1. Felix Schuhmacher hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. When Giovanni Lenhardt came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the RIVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovanni Lenhardt couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, FC Nereta's Muammer Taşcıoğlu got control of the ball when Wu Li Zhi tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, RIVER's Marco Rudolfo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Niki Lauda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
