Independente FC's Nilmar Loyola shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 45th minute of play. The shot was stopped by André Onana but with some difficulty. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Carlos de Azevedo made a kick off. Marco Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Onana having to interfere. When Independente FC's Alexandre Cabral in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If José Vítor Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
