The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilber Pearson during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Karen FC's Magnus Hjortsberg was substituted for Kjell Larsfält. After 5 played minutes Kentucky Mustangs got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Pearson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Hegg in the 16th minute of play forced Kentucky Mustangs's goalkeeper Tyrone McCracken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Olof Dahlberg in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyrone McCracken saved Kentucky Mustangs from getting behind. In the 21st minute, Dan Hegg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tyrone McCracken was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ramon Chung hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Karen FC's Linus Brovall couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kentucky Mustangs. Tyrone McCracken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bror Ahlfors in the 34th minute of the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Sven-Olof Dahlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Olof Dahlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the game, Karen FC's Sven-Olof Dahlberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tyrone McCracken made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 45th minute Dan Hegg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone McCracken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

53 minutes into the match, Karen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vaughn Willingham came free, but Bengt-Åke Smitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 minutes, Dane Ball mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kentucky Mustangs and the Karen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dane Ball was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 60 minutes into the match, Bror Ahlfors dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tyrone McCracken, 0-4. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Dan Hegg took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Tyrone McCracken to make any attempt to save it. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Karen FC's goalkeeper Bengt-Åke Smitt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Vaughn Willingham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tyrone McCracken made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Dan Hegg sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute Sven-Olof Dahlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone McCracken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Sven-Olof Dahlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th minute Bror Ahlfors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone McCracken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 played minutes Kentucky Mustangs got a freekick which was hit by Wyatt Giles. The crowd rose to their feet as Karen FC's Dan Hegg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tyrone McCracken. That made the score 0-6 after 90 minutes of play. Dan Hegg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karen FC played a much better game than Kentucky Mustangs and deserved their victory. The Kentucky Mustangs players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
