In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s goalkeeper João Francisco Corrêa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Independente FC booed when £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Esteves in the 17th minute of play. Independente FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nestor Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Pimenta in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute Kaká Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Ribeiro hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Ciro Ribeiro's late challenge caught a £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Ribeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes Independente FC got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Ribeiro. After 47 played minutes, £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s Adhemar Paiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nestor Quintal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ reached it. After the first half £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the game, Terence Puskás was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independente FC the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terence Puskás to maneuver through the defense. Nestor Quintal was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilian da Costa. After 58 minutes of play £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s Oséas Veiga was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes into the match, Independente FC's Ciro Ribeiro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Wilian da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nestor Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Anselmo Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Diego Martins got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute of the match Jonas Esteves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Francisco Corrêa skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Anselmo Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Independente FC's Diego Martins got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute of the match Allan Neves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nestor Quintal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nestor Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. £øs ρєłαdєirøs ®™'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
