With 22 minutes on the clock, Segundo Inge commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 22nd minute, Segundo Inge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramon Chung recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of RIVER booed when Kentucky Mustangs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curt Buddle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 33 minutes, Chance Brewer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kentucky Mustangs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chance Brewer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julian Salvadore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Correa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tyrone McCracken made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Francisco Macerio sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the game, Kentucky Mustangs's Tory Padgett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julian Salvadore made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tory Padgett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in RIVER's zone, Tory Padgett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Salvadore came out of the goal and Tory Padgett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tyrone McCracken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Macerio in the 55th minute of play. Tyrone McCracken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicasio Mendebal, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Nicasio Mendebal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Chance Brewer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Julian Salvadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Kentucky Mustangs's Tory Padgett slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julian Salvadore. That made the score 2-3 after 72 minutes of play. Nicasio Mendebal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tyrone McCracken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicasio Mendebal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyrone McCracken having to interfere. Tyrone McCracken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Macerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melvin Snyder kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Julian Salvadore didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tory Padgett went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. The RIVER supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kentucky Mustangs's performance. The match ended with a win for Kentucky Mustangs.
