Paulo Romelio kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Umberto Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Marcelo Bikendi made a huge save. Marcelo Bikendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Dolfo in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to La Gallardeta getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Paulo Romelio hit a great ball. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Dolfo in the 32nd minute of play. Paulo Romelio struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Pedrinho Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Gallardeta. Danilo Liberto kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Benedito Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Bikendi having to interfere. Marcelo Bikendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umberto Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 59th minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Marcelo Bikendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Paulo Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Umberto Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Castanheiro SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Dionísio couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Paulo Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelo Bikendi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Mineiro in the 83rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Umberto Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Bikendi was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Danilo Liberto hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute Umberto Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Bikendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
