Hernan Licerio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 18 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Victoria's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Mineiro came free, but Hernan Licerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Anísio Alagoano hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Sporting Club Victoria's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Dionísio came free, but Hernan Licerio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernan Licerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro in the 34th minute of play. Anísio Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute Anísio Alagoano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Licerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernan Licerio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedito Mineiro in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hernan Licerio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sporting Club Victoria's Hernan Licerio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Castanheiro SC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sporting Club Victoria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Umberto Dionísio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After 56 minutes, Célio Vianna mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castanheiro SC and the Sporting Club Victoria players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Célio Vianna. Cayetano Goiz struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Club Victoria. Hernan Licerio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedito Mineiro in the 59th minute. The supporters of Sporting Club Victoria booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Sporting Club Victoria defense, Umberto Dionísio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernan Licerio. The Sporting Club Victoria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernan Licerio should have stopped the shot. In the 68th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Adrian Gilesindo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelo Eger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hernan Licerio came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo Eger slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 84th minute. Hernan Licerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Sporting Club Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Aurken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Castanheiro SC's Nilson Veloso shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Hernan Licerio but with some difficulty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Umberto Dionísio got free with Hernan Licerio in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 94 played minutes, Castanheiro SC's Benedito Mineiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernan Licerio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Castanheiro SC reached it.
