With an all-out effort, SAS's Eugenio Asier threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edgar Salles, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edvaldo Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Tonete in the 36th minute of play. Edvaldo Brasil was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Agostinho Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CERPA's Eugenio Asier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 53rd minute of the match SAS got a corner. CERPA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgar Salles ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauricio Macías in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo Brasil saved SAS from getting behind. In the 57th minute of the match CERPA got a corner. SAS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benedicto Medero ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 57th minute, Wilhelm Volle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, SAS's Agostinho Carneiro got a free kick in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the match, CERPA's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Guilherme Paraense came free, but Eugenio Asier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Victoriano Tonete ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edvaldo Brasil was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
