With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pontus Nordström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, CERPA's Eugenio Asier got control of the ball when Andréas Hasselqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andréas Hasselqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Eugenio Asier made a huge save. The supporters of CERPA booed when Santa Margarita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andréas Hasselqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedicto Medero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pontus Nordström. Santa Margarita's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Victoriano Tonete hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. If Victoriano Tonete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 21 minutes on the clock, David Celio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 21 minutes into the game, one of Santa Margarita:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marco Montel kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Gerardo Lordi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Margarita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Lordi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Macías, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CERPA's Victoriano Tonete got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilhelm Volle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pontus Nordström having to interfere. When Gonzalo Orixe fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Margarita's protests and gave Gonzalo Orixe a yellow card for diving instead. Gerardo Lordi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 62nd match minute, Santa Margarita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andréas Hasselqvist to maneuver through the defense. Santa Margarita's Wendell Davids was substituted for Witomir Pisarczyk. CERPA's Efrain Roldan was substituted for Mauricio Macías. In the 64th minute, Andréas Hasselqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CERPA's Benedicto Medero shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 65th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pontus Nordström but with some difficulty. Eugenio Asier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Icardi, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When Eduardo De Francesco fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santa Margarita's protests and gave Eduardo De Francesco a yellow card for diving instead. 74 minutes into the match, Santa Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Roldan came free, but Pontus Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pontus Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Volle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pontus Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Roldan in the 90th minute of the match. Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Margarita from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CERPA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
