Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute Tonico Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Inter Miami CF's Javier Fridman was substituted for Eriberto Miranda. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tonico Tinoco was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Hélder Nóbrega recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah. The audience was convinced that Javier Fridman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edvaldo Brasil was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Román Riquelme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Agostinho Carneiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah. That made the score 0-3 in the 72 minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SAS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
