When Liu Yan Yan fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's protests and gave Liu Yan Yan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Inter Miami CF booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liu Yan Yan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tonico Tinoco in the 16th minute of play forced Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalkeeper Petru Nisporeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Inter Miami CF got a corner. Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joe Pancken ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Inter Miami CF's Joe Pancken to fire away a dangerous shot which Petru Nisporeanu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Petru Nisporeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tonico Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Guaberto Paio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean-Philippe Al Abdullah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Örjan Forssell in the 24th minute of play. Petru Nisporeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tonico Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute, Tonico Tinoco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Petru Nisporeanu came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter Miami CF's Tonico Tinoco. But to his dismay, Tonico Tinoco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 41st match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Hellström to maneuver through the defense. Petru Nisporeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tonico Tinoco in the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Tonico Tinoco notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's Petru Nisporeanu. Petru Nisporeanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Petru Nisporeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tonico Tinoco in the 57th minute of the match. Petru Nisporeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Fridman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes Inter Miami CF got a freekick which was hit by Justo Montrel. Inter Miami CF's Mauro Liher was substituted for Justo Montrel. A collision led to Inter Miami CF getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Justo Montrel hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Erasmo Lekubegi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Inter Miami CF's Mauro Liher got a free kick in the 65th minute. Petru Nisporeanu made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Román Riquelme sent off a good shot on target. After 68 minutes of play, Inter Miami CF's Javier Fridman made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Petru Nisporeanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Tonico Tinoco sped through Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petru Nisporeanu. The supporters of Inter Miami CF booed when Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blai Bacardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petru Nisporeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tonico Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Inter Miami CF's Tonico Tinoco was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 77th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Guaberto Paio came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Inter Miami CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Paio couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Inter Miami CF getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Blas Giunta hit a great ball. In the 84th minute Tonico Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petru Nisporeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petru Nisporeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tonico Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Petru Nisporeanu made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Román Riquelme sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute of the match, Román Riquelme got a very nice opportunity to score, but Petru Nisporeanu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Javier Fridman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petru Nisporeanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. In the 98th match minute, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blai Bacardi to maneuver through the defense. In the 100th minute, Blai Bacardi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
