After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Gernando Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monumento Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Gernando Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Mineiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Quintal in the 7th minute of play forced Irreal Madrid's goalkeeper Edmundo Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolas Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Túlio Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Válter Siqueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Lenílson Azevedo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Válter Siqueira to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Irreal Madrid's zone, Gernando Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmundo Mineiro came out of the goal and Gernando Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Arruda in the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Túlio Maranhense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Válter Siqueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Quintal in the 33rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Túlio Maranhense took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Válter Siqueira to make any attempt to save it. Válter Siqueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dráusio Domingues in the 41st minute. Válter Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Luiz Gustavo Leão made the kick off in the second half. The Irreal Madrid fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmundo Mineiro should have stopped the shot. If Gernando Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro got control of the ball when Gernando Quintal tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Gernando Quintal came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Monumento Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gernando Quintal couldn't finish the play. Válter Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Maranhense in the 69th minute of play. In the 69th minute Túlio Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fabiano Dracena struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Válter Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irreal Madrid. Irreal Madrid's William Couto was substituted for Dráusio Domingues. Válter Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Leão in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Túlio Maranhense notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of Monumento Sports's Válter Siqueira. Válter Siqueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedrinho Neiva hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Válter Siqueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 88 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Arruda. The supporters of Irreal Madrid booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling William Couto in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válter Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Toninho Arruda got a free kick in the 96th minute. Irreal Madrid were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Monumento Sports for a fine match.
